HOLD MY HAND

As I pass through the crowds all day

I quietly listen to all they have to say,

But as I walk alone in the sand,

I just want you to hold my hand.

No reason to be with you, I know

Together we may never have a tomorrow,

But when my feet sink deeper into the sand,

I just want you to hold my hand.

You told me no future there would be,

I heard you out, and wheedled my heart to agree,

But if mid-way I fall down in the sand,

I just want you to hold my hand.

I laughed, I loved, I lived it all

Fearing the day you’d make the “goodbye” call,

But when I lie forever in the sand,

Oh, I just want you to hold my hand.
